Guess Who Come to NAD Conference 2008?

You could check out whom attend this year's NAD Conference 2008 within the attached link. FYI, this is not a complete list of individuals attending the conference. Some individuals wish not to publicize their conference attendance.

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Deaf Bilingual Coalition (DBC) are more transparent and open about what they are doing at the conference as compared to the Alexander Graham Bell Association of the Deaf (AGBAD) and other audiological-leaning organizations. Don't you agree?

So you enjoy yourself to scan and browse to see if you know anyone attending the 48th NAD Conference (2008).

Here is the attached link as promised:

  2. RLM - Thanks for removing my previous posting.

I probably got a bit carried away in my thoughts.

After more careful thought I'm reassessing my views here on this blog entry by another fellow Robert better known in blogsphere as "RLM"

I'm not in agreement with organizations publishing names of individuals attending its events and citing the same for other aspects such as donors and etc. Publicizing each donor should be with full consent.

I don't quite see that occurring with AGBELL, ALDA and HLAA. I don't see why DSA and NAD need to do this kind of publicity. I find this rather pathetic not to mention dangerous as there are some reputed stalkers prowling the premises of Deaf community.

Personally, I've experienced stress from others who have minds of entitlements would just investigate in personal affairs and realize I'm not attending this or that deaf-related event. Needless to say, they have too much time on their hands.

I hope this kind of perception will give NAD and other organizations, deaf or not, some pause and treat each of its members with dignified privacy.

  3. Robert (not RLM),

My friend sent me this NAD link last May 2008 to let me that he will attend the NAD conference.

I don't see any big deal with the public listing of would-be attendees since the general public have the right to know who is attending the NAD conference.

AGBell should release its list of conference attendees since it is a non-profit organization.

My friends have legal authority to demand any non-profit organizations to release its documents upon request. I have many connections to those federal and state agencies and private individuals. I am not ashamed to say that I have such privileges to access to many organizations and places beyond imagination. Of course, I am doing thru legal means.
