FLASH NEWS ABOUT VIABLE PLEA AGREEMENT(S)!

Here is the "hot off the press" regarding the latest plea agreements within former Viable employees.

From reading the press release, the former Viable employees seems get pretty harsh sentencings as what other VRS companies usually done for many years.

Several employees worked at various VRS companies admitted to me that they had seen all similar doings of what the Viable, Inc had done.

Is the Viable, Inc being scapegoated for being the first successful major deaf company?

Why didn't the federal government do the audits of all VRS companies to see if they commit any fraudlent stuffs or not? I am speaking of all the fairness and real justice for the American taxpayers.

  1. I doubt both will get maximum sentencing. That is what they can get, but realistically, I think with their cooperation, they might get off with a lot less in exchange for testimony against Yeh.

    From what has been rumored in the deaf community, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If what is going around is true, we can expect to see more indictment in the future affecting other VRS companies.

  2. On the other hand, if the Fed's case is strong, it might be harder to negotiate a lesser sentence.....

  3. Anonymous #1,

    Yes, that is the ploy on the federal prosecutors to force two Viable employees with plea agreement in exchange for testifying against Yeh and others.

    I wonder why the Halliburton and other companies get away with defrauding the American taxpayers in doing the contractual works in Iraq.

    Let's wait to see what will happen with the ongoing trial involved the Viable employees.

  5. DT,

    You are probably right about the strengths of Fed case against two individuals, but the Feds could fuck up in the trial anyway.

  6. Umm, Robert, Viable isn't the only company that has been investigated and had people charged, so I don't think they are scapegoating deaf people only. More than likely it is an instance of people tipping them off, red flags being thrown up because they billed WAY more than others, etc.

    Also, people do not generally make plea deals unless there is sufficient evidence for them to possibly be found guilty, and they know it, so they (prosecutors) typically offer a deal to whomever agrees to talk first, everyone else gets rolled over. I imagine these two individuals took a look at the evidence and decided to save their own hides as much as possible.

    Either way, it is a sad situation.

  7. Eddie,

    With due respect, I am not fully sure if the FCC and other federal agencies did investigative all VRS companies.

    No, that is a real victory for the American taxpayers. You should cheer up that nobody ought to rip off the taxpayer money at all.

  8. About the Halliburtion, I have no facts to back up but I do believe it is the old boy club that protected them and they have savviest people on the team to secured their path along the way.

    Yes, it is an unfortunately situation of defrauding American taxpayers when people knew it and take no action.

    Aside, the VRS industries should be investigated. It is unfair for others who might pull a fraudlent scheme and end up walking away.

  9. Good one, Joe!

    I would love to see Dicky (Cheney)'s balls to be tied to the beam and leave him squeamish until the last drop of blood hit the ground.

    Same thing with Bushy for letting the Corporate America fuck with the Main Street!

    The Obama adminstration is too spineless taking on the old boy network concerned Dicky and Bushy.

  10. Robert:

    From the very article you posted a link to, here is the list of VRS companies that have been investigated and charged thusfar:

    Master Communications LLC, of Las Vegas;
    KL Communications LLC, of Phoenix;
    Mascom LLC of Austin, Texas;
    Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Interpreting Services Inc. (DHIS), of New York and New Jersey;
    Innovative Communication Services for the Deaf Corp. (ICSD), of Miami Lakes, Fla.; and
    Deaf Studio 29 of Huntington Beach, Calif.

    So you see, it's not JUST Viable, and its impossible to conduct an audit/investigations of ALL VRS companies at one time, I'm sure others are being closely watched as well since this came to light. Like the first commenter said, this is probably just the tip of the iceberg, and others may follow.

    I am, of course, very happy this is being investigated and prosecuted. And I hope it serves as a warning/deterrent to other companies who may have considered doing something like this to NOT do it because they will get caught.

  11. Eddie, my distinct recollection of the companies you just listed above is that they were in cahoots with Viable, meaning partners in this whole sordid thing.

  12. Eddie,

    Oh I see about listed VRS companies being investigated so far.

    I wonder whether the Sorenson VRS is too smart to keep their books and email correspondences "real clean" from being detected.

    Of course, Sorenson is a fucking company lead by the Mormon which the Mormon people surely know how to hid things from the authorities.

    Look at their past history of murdering innocent women, children and babies back in the 1800s. Mormons surely got away with the little-known genocide.

    Thank God for us not elected Mitt Romney, the real son of bitch!

  13. DT:

    You are ALMOST correct. Deaf Studio 29 was charged independently (did not act in the alleged conspiracy with Viable), the others DID allegedly conspire with Viable.

    RLM:

    I actually have had no problems with Sorenson while using them. They don't solicit me in an unseeming manner, haven't offered me products and then not delivered, etc, (like Purple).

    As for your generalizations about the Mormons, I find those offensive (even though I am not a Mormon, I'm Baptist) for the simple reason that you are holding TODAY'S Mormons accountable for the sins of their ancestors. That's like saying I'm a racist because some of my ancestors owned slaves a couple hundred years ago, or like saying all deaf people are dumb, or all Muslims are terrorists, etc. It is uncalled for for you to call Romney an SOB just because he practices the Mormon faith.

    Once again, your emotions and your mouth are running ahead of your brain.
