Desperate Housewives' Offensive Episode Toward Deaf People

The ABC-TV's popular network television, "Desperate Housewives" done such an offensive mockery toward deaf people in the #20 episode of Season Six - "Epiphany". The alcoholic single mother mocked her own teenage son for being thankful about not dating anyone deaf, blind and crippled and snided at him for wooing the daughter of Republican caterer out of his league. WHEN WILL COMIC BOOKS OR TV SHOW REGULARLY FEATURES DEAF CHARACTER(s)?

The Archie Comics will feature the FIRST gay character in its comic book series to be more inclusive within the changing world. WHAT abbbbbbbbouuut DEAF character(s) as part of the Riverdale gang???

FYI, Deaf School Adminstrator Got Terminated Yesterday

The latest news about the deaf school administrator officially got terminated yesterday around 4pm (4/23/2010).

Most employers or state government usually have to wait for the "guilty" verdict or the circumstantial evidence against someone. That changed much from the administrative leave to FIRED in less than a week. No official press release from the ENCSD or the state education department.

Were more and more people came forward in expressing their personal dealings with the deaf school administrator. Or what made the school board or state education board or state supt. dismissed the deaf school administrator without waiting for the incoming trial to prove this deaf individual "not guilty" or "guilty".

Was the institutional racism and audism played in the role of firing Dr. Reginald Redding, the
head school director of the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf?
According to Ridor's latest vlog posting, Dr. Redding accused the deaf lady of seeing someone else beside him which led to the violent confrontation. Redding placed the pillow on deaf lady's face. She managed to escape and report to the police.

Many of us have been concerned about the negative aspects of Dr. Redding's so-called criminal action possibly affected the future of hiring of deaf individuals to the teaching and administration positions.

The state of North Carolinia is well-known as the bastion of "AUDISM" or "Audistic State" since Dr. Bruxton, the state administrator declared the use of sign language for unintellectual people pretty long time ago.

Ever the state of North Carolina tried to merger the two existing schools of the deaf into one large school of the deaf serving 250 students altogether in entire state. That would save only $17 million dollars. http://www.deafchild.net/?tag=encsd

How the AGBell Turned WVSD Into Phonic Ear Experiment

Deaf Grandparents Were Very Upset with Their Hearing Son's Decision

One of the deaf grandparents recently were very upset with their hearing son's decision for getting their only four-old months deaf grandson the cochlear implant (CI). The hearing son defied and dismissed their own parents' logical arguments about the false miracles and dangers of CI surgery and device. Of course, the deaf grandparents were very emotionally devastated of seeing their own son chose to shortchange the deaf grandson's own language development and emotional intelligence and cultural and linguistic heritage into the productive, well-educated and emotionally balanced citizen.

The deaf grandparents bought the costly airfare to fly down from the coast to coast to talk with the hearing son in person into reconsidering the option for CI surgery on the four-months old deaf grandson. Both deaf grandparents had the unsuccessful relay conversation thru the third-party (VRS). So the concerned grandparents willingly coughed up their air fares to do something about their deaf grandson.

The deaf grandparents deeply care about the well-beings and welfare of their deaf grandson from the lifetime mistake which will be not possibly reversed without additional surgery to remove the CI device. Many health insurance companies refuse to pay the cost of removing the CI device whether the device and surgery cause the life-threatening health problems.

The name of deaf grandparents and deaf grandson and exact location area to be temporarily withdraw for the full privacy of involved family members and let those involved parties to resolve their own family matters without any interference(s) from any audistic proponents, organizations and corporations.

Sadly, the deaf grandparents' legitimate concerns tossed out the window without appreciating the wisdom and love from our multi-generational family, especially the elders. Such types of Children of Deaf Children known as CODAs like the hearing son whose only fingerspell and reject the proud cultural and linguistic hertiage of their own parents and siblings and relatives. Another son fluently sign and proudly embrace deaf people as true human beings very well.

What's matter with the increasingly superior "digital hearing aids" much effective and reliable and removable than the forced cochlear implant surgery without the consent of deaf babies and youngsters?

Former BDA President Had Past Police Records and Court Cases

The former National Black Deaf Advocates (BDA) president was recently arrested by the police for the sexually-related crime. This deaf individual also presided the ceremony in dedicating the new bust of Dr. Andrew Foster, at the Galladuet University's Foster Auditorium few years ago with I. The deaf school administrative of Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (ENCSD) recently got arrested and charged for the assault of female and second-degree kidnapping. The police report indicated that the Gallaudet University graduate put the pillow on lady's face and grabbed her. The lady managed to escape and reported to the police. Is ASL a Modern or Minority Language?

The Chicago Tribune newspaper recently published an article - "Is ASL a Foreign Language?" DeafPundit. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/education/ct-met-sign-language-20100416,0,2337497.story

Should we get the society at large to see the American Sign Language as the modern or minority or community language?

From my past 2006 blog posting which I urge the Deaf America to embrace the ASL as a modern or minority language, instead of defining it as a foreign language. (Blogger's note - I could not possibly find my previous blog posting which urge the Deaf America to consider the federal legislation to designate the protection of ASL as a minority and community language. That blog posting disappeared into thin air or not cached in any way. *stratch head*

Anonymous, Learning ASL is more approriately called "minority language", Minority-speaking populace's language in other countries would be not seen as some kind of foreign language. ASL should be embraced as a "minority language" used by the deaf Americans, Canadians and other nationalities. That is my own personal opinion. RLM

I think that is the time for us to get the U.S. Congress to recognize the American Sign Language as a minority and community language thru formal terms with the legislation to protect our beloved language That is pretty overdue by the year of 2010! I urge the Deaf America back in 2006!

Kinda puzzled why the Chicago Tribune said that the use of ASL was ranked the fourth language usage in the United States, not the third common language usage among the Americans.
