Deaf Person of the Decade Made Real Profound Impacts on Global Deaf Community

Guess who??? We ought to honor one deaf individual, who surely make the profound impacts on the global deaf community thru very simple and effective medium - changed technology use of media. Anyone deaf, you would guess right away?? This deaf individual is a real survivor, who defy all so-called societal expectations and systematic restrictions. This deaf person manages to get hir own personal viewpoints (POV) outside the established media realms in despite of repeated ousters by the once popular "DeafRead" (DR)and "Deaf Video TV" (DVTV) founder and editor, Tayler Myers for that deaf individual's repeated violations of formal agreements via deaf media participation policies not to attack anyone on personal level, etc.

The Deaf Person of the Decade Made Real Profound Impacts on Global Deaf Community in many ways for the decade of 2000-2009 is Ricky "Ridor" Taylor. He surely changed the deaf media mediums from the printed deaf monthly newspapers/magazines, ex. "Silent Newspaper" and "Deaf Life" and daily deaf news e-subscriptions of "USA-L" done by Philip Moos from the controls of the so-called deaf media establishments to the "all out in the open" media outlets - deaf blogs which transformed into deaf
vlogs later in the last half of the 2000s decade.

The existence of Ridor blogs dramatically influenced the frameworks of the very first "citizen media reportings" during the Gallaudet University's "Unity For Gallaudet" 2006 mass protest which led to the creation of "DeafRead" by Tayler Myers and Jared Evans, but Shane Feldman played the major role in creation of very first NAD blogs reportings during the 2006 NAD Conference in Palm Beach, California.

The real purpose of creating the DeafRead and NAD daily blog postings were to keep Ridor from monopolizing the deaf media influences toward the deaf community at large. If not for Ridor's legendary blog postings, we probably never have the DeafRead or NAD blog postings (vlog postings added later in the 2000s decade).

Ridor's original blog postings definitely inspired the new generation of deaf bloggers and vloggers out of the wood to share their viewpoints and newsreportings within the increasingly "mobile communication" society.

Jason Lambert coined the original term of "vlog" in place of "blog" = video + log
back in the early 2000s. The vlog postings never catched up until the new generation of deaf instant media technology-savvy individuals managed to popularize the existence of vlog postings like the individuals of Joey Baer with his rational and constructive thoughts to convey into positive leadership actions, instead of ranting and lambasting someone else.

Ricky "Ridor" Taylor had been censured twice by the DeafRead and Deaf Video TV" co-founder, Tayler Myers. The vicious comments unfairly targeted Tayler Myers for his decision to ban Ridor from posting his blog and vlog entries. Ridor's followers and supporters never gave up on Ridor and insisted of re-installing Ridor's blogs and vlogs. Tayler Myers refused to budge on the pleas from deaf readers and viewers.

In the end of 2000s decade, Ridor manage to re-emerge into the deaf media landscape by tapping into the YouTube video postings. Ridor still get around with
his viewpoints and rebuttals by defying the formal media structure to keep him out of blog and vlog entries.

We still enjoy Ridor's thoughts and viewpoints throughout the new decade of 2010-2019. Ridor get much better with his vlog entries every time. Some people considered his vlog postings to be "piece of s**t. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and expressions.

  2. Man, never saw so much ass kissing here. He may have "reported" but he certainly didn't keep his, uh, mouth shut. Nor was it clean.

  3. Global community ? he is unheard of in the UK. The bits we have read of him were full of foul-mouthed abuse and he was an declared abuser of people and their views if they differed from his. In the end he condemned himself, and most were glad he went. He is renowed for his arrogance and attacks on other deaf people, not for his 'far reaching' online declarations. Some legacy...

    Moi ass-kissing Ridor? Nah!

Ridor is a Scorpio. I am a Sagittarus. We are not friends as some people speculate that.

  7. MM,

Really? Thanks for letting us know what occurs in UK about Ridor's status over there.

    You said about Ridor were
    mostly true.

What would you expect from Scorpio guy like Ridor?

Yea, I seem overlook the contribution of female deaf bloggers and vloggers like Elisa (could not spell her surname very well) and Misha Kenza and other many.

Thanks for pointing out this one. :)

  9. MM, I have dozens of Deaf pals in UK. They assured me that many Deaf people in UK are aware of me and my writings. Heck, I received many emails from them from time to time.

I see that you're still bitter about me whacking your butt several times in the past.

I always feel that anonymous postings are worthless to start with mainly because they hide behind the screens and attack others.

It is true that I toss dirty words frequently mainly because I do not see any value in them at all. I try to argue the points. People like MM and anonymous commentators try to focus on my background.

Tayler Mayer failed to silence me as usual. Today I still receive emails from Deaf people thanking me for things I've done in the past. Not only that, I continue to meet many fans in person talking about my blogs/vlogs.

Gawd, I miss Elisa Abenchuchan -- we rarely agree on many things but she and I can butt each other and yet respect each other. Unlike MM and Tayler Mayer.

Thanks, rlmdeaf, for doing this - you know me, I can't stand you and you can't stand me but at least, you know where to see the truth.

It is always nice to see things like that. Obviously some people wanted to make sure that I do not get the credit for doing many things in the past.

    Cheers,

  10. Ridor,

I still could not understand why you can't stand me.

Dorian Fletcher told you lies about me backstabbed you at Gallaudet. I never did on that day
or beforehand. You lambasted me for no reasons, then informed me that you did report me to the Gallaudet Student Life office and filed the complaint against me.

I went to the Student Life office next week after the weekend (Friday which the incident occurred at Gallaudet University library's entry level). Guess what? One of the student life employee related to the campus judicial board coordinator) was very enraged about your fictious complaint filings. An exact
words were "RICKY TAYLOR!" and asked me if that was all right with me for this person to talk with you. I told this person that would be not necessary at all.

Many deaf people often told me that they found you to be replusive like "YOU FINALLY OUT OF CLOSET". One of the deaf individual told me why can't you said something nice like "NOT SEEING YOU FOR SO LONG TIME. HOW ARE YOU DOING?"

You had not seen this deaf individual more than 10 years and blurted out "YOU FINALLY OUT OF CLOSET". That deaf guy and I ended up in bed all thanks to you.

I wonder why you dislike me so much. Jealousy? Stupid rivalry because you are from the VSDB (Virginia School for the Deaf) and me from the WVSD (West Virginia School for the Deaf)?

I always have been nice to you and treat you with respect. You and I have same outlooks and beliefs for the deaf community.

I gave you $50 dollars via wire money transfer when you asked me via IM chat. I did keep my words by sending you $$$.

I found out that other deaf people did give you $$$, too.

  11. What the fuck are you talking about?

It is *your* behavior that turned me off at bars. Dorian Fletcher? I care less about what he said. Sometimes I tell things in your face because I knew you'd flip out.

Just like today with your latest comment.

As for me reporting you to "Gallaudet Student Life Office"? Please don't invent the tales. There is no such thing as "Student Life Office" at Gallaudet.

I care less if many people found me to be revolting. I reserve the right to feel the same.

You can whore with anyone else for all I care. That is your right.

Jealousy? No. I don't care about your conquests. I do not find you interesting.

Rivalry? LOL. Don't waste my time. I never knew that you went to WVSDB until YOU told me.

There are some times that you were not nice to me. Your latest comment is one of these examples. There were incidents that I repeatedly asked you to leave me alone in bars and you won't respect that.

$50? What the fuck are you talking about? I'm done with you. YOur latest comment was uncalled for. I simply acknowledged and appreciated your entry. And you used this opportunity to attack?

    How classy.

  12. If money was sent on the pretext as a loan then it should be repaid. If it's a favor expecting some kind of "payment" in some kind or another then that's getting a bit hairy especially when friendships are concerned but all I see is an attempt to somehow buttkiss each othere here. And looks like we're witnessing a little bit of a scorned tiff right now. Amusing.

  13. Anonymous,

FYI, $50 dollars sent via wire transfer never was agreed as a loan in any way.

Ridor just asked me via IM conversaton if I could send in $50 dollars and use the Western Union for him to pick up the money.

I just complied with this kind of request to see how everything turns out.

That was not very first time, I was very nice to Ridor out of generosity. I brought Ridor a cheap quality CVS cola soda from the CVS store which those soda cans cost 35 cents at that time in 1990s.

Ridor said "I am surprised that the CVS cola soda really taste good". I told him just only 35 cents.

Ridor never returned any act of generosity like treating me for a drink, etc.

One deaf gay guy mumbled "I do not have money for drinks". I gently reminded that deaf guy that Ridor do owe you for drinks. That deaf guy said "Yes, that is right!". In the end, Ridor bought a drink for that deaf guy at the gay bar out of turns to repay the favor.

I never buttkiss Ridor in any way. Just know how to handle Ridor.

  14. Rubbish Ridor I have never gone anonymous. As for focusing on your background who cares what your lifestyle and preferences are except you ? I only refered to you when you (A) Took a swipe at me for no reason other than to abuse, and (B) To echo what 40 other deaf.read commentators had to say, in that your mouth runs away with you and you enjoy that, now it's gone from shock to plain boring give us all a rest and stick to issues. Any idiot can swear as you've proven. But for this blogger abusing deaf.read by allowing you an 'in' to carry on having a go at people in a personal way, doesn't help either. Many in the deaf world have grown up, you seem to be still having difficulties.

MM: When I talked about anonymous posters, I was not referring to you.

It is evident that you hadn't learned anything.

Blogging is a thing of the past.

Why do you think I moved on to twitter & vlogging? I still have a large group of followers.

Just look at DeafRead, it is dead, filled with scavengers like you and RLM.

Good luck in your so-called endeavors!
