After recently viewing the Audism Free America (AFA) website. The AFA enclosed its announcement from the Clarke School for the Deaf (CSD) regarding the name change for that school and other four extended schools. http://audismfreeamerica.blogspot.com/

Clarke School for the Deaf specialized in oral methods of educating the deaf children which Alexander Graham Bell (AGB) had deeply involved in creating this school based on ideology, not practicality for the education of the deaf.

How appalling of the century-old school for the deaf engaged in revisionist history of erasing "deaf" from its own existence! See that? What happened to our own deaf existence if we let people to re-write the history of deaf over time?

ReplyDeleteThat is a WELL-KNOWN FACT about the Clarke School for the Deaf and oral schools have the history of extensive physical and verbal abuses toward deaf students.
Residential schools of the deaf and other educational programs of the deaf are not immune at all.
If not for lax standards with the hiring of shady people for faciliting the educational settings of the deaf. We will see
the lessenings of abuses toward
deaf students.
