Audism Free America's Three (3) Requests Very Reasonable and Logical

Not comprehend (understand) why some deaf vloggers and bloggers dissed (criticize) the Audism Free America (AFA)'s three demands to be discussed at the table with the Alexander Graham Bell Association of the Deaf (AGBell) next April 3rd (2009).

Every organization or protestor usually lay several layouts of demands and issues to be work and iron out for the bargaining table or create dialogues within involved parties. That doesn't meant anything happened for sure.

I am giving all my 100% support to the Audism Free America with no questions asked. Not everyone being perfect anyway. No one could be 100 % satisifed.

My personal opinion of the AFA being too moderate and pragmatic without being more radical approach.

If I were within the similar organization. I would call for the distruption of AGBell fundraising parties and other more radical approaches.

AFA is very reasonable and legitimate organization as I could see.

Robert L. Mason

  1. Remember that Benjamin Franklin gave a famous speech at the end of the Constitutional Convention about the fact that he was fallible and was willing to accept the Constitution whether or not he had small disagreements with it. He wanted to convince the other delegates to do the same. He said:

"On the whole, sir, I can not help expressing a wish that every member of the convention who may still have objections to it, would, with me, on this occasion, doubt a little of his own infallibility, and, to make manifest our unanimity, put his name to this instrument."

  2. Hi Robert,

Thanks for your support. My wife and I will be there to support my Deaf brothers and sisters no matter where we come from. We are from Canada. I do care for Deaf Americans (no matter who they are).

    Take care

  3. BR,

How true about everyone never feel satisfied 100% with any proposal or proceeding. Just get along for the sake of rational manners.

Many thanks for sharing Ben Franklin's speech which I never aware of it until now.

I always learn something new everyday! :) Thanks again, BR.

  4. Deafchip,

I kinda envy you and your wife coming to the AFA rally. I am supposed to fly down to DC from South Florida for four deaf events -

    Memorial Service for Dr. Mike

Charter Day in honor of Dr. Paddy

    Audism Free America Rally

    Deaf Professional Happy Hour
    (just check out
    for more info).

I probably fly down to DC at last-minute plan. I am not fully sure. I have some priorities to be taken care in South Florida.

I hope that I could persuade other deaf people in South Florida to hold the rally and other causes reflect the Audism Free America's goals sometimes this month (April).

I would love to see you again in person and meet your wife.

Canadians and Americans are much brothers and sisters anyway.

I hope that we, Deaf Americans could return big favors for Deaf Candadian causes. :)

  5. I smell a scandal coming up and it's called "Audismgate". It's the deaf community, not the hearing people, the ones that birthed and raised the audism monster theyre fighting these days.
