Open-Captioned Films Seem Problematic With Caption Visibility

Two recent summertime flicks with open captions like "UP" and "Land of the Lost" seems very hard to read very thin white captions on brighter film background. Don't you have a similar problem with open-captioned films lately?

What about parents of deaf children's hard-earned spendings on movie tixs undermined by poor quality of open captions?

Film viewing at the multiplex theatre ought to be non-stressful and non-frustrating experience for deaf youth moviegoers.

Why can't the distributors and caption typists simply do the usual yellow subtitles for many foreign films? So we could easily read the open captions on multiplex screens without any kind of eye strains and body tiltings. Don't you agree?

What could we do is to contact the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) and film distributors and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to address problematic issue of "difficult to read" open captions on brighter film background.

If any of you used to watch the original "Land of the Lost" Saturday morning tv programming on NBC. You ought to know that actor Wesley Eure recently admitted that he is totally gay himself and used to date actor Richard Chamberlian, another closeted gay actor until recent years ago.

  1. You can request the manager to change the white color to yellow color captions. Better than white.
