In rebuttal to Gary Brooks' luridcious "Red Dawn" scenarios on his latest vlog about expressing such concerns about the latest Russian strategic and tactic developments down in South America region.
First of all, Gary Brooks, deaf vlogger and Gallaudet graduate, made numerous significant errors in refer to the Reaganesque 80's film, "Red Dawn". The fictional invaders were the part of Soviet Union empire, NOT Russia. Comprendo? Gary Brooks had to understand the real difference between the Soviet Union and Russia being specifically portrayed in the "Red Dawn" film.
Gary Brooks had to realize that the "Flamingo Kid" 1984 film with Matt Dillon, was really the FIRST Hollywood film to be stamped and labeled as the PG-13 film, but shelved and released later.
Yes, "Red Dawn" film was the first Hollywood film to be released with the PG-13 rating. DBC Ought to Participate in Presidential Inaugural 2008 Parade
Deaf Bilingual Coalition (DBC) ought to participate in the 56th Presidential Inaugural Parade - January 20,2008 for countless free airtime and endless public exposures and global recognition.
The Joint Congressional Committee Inaugural Ceremonies had the participation deadline date - November 18th for any partisan or civic society participation.

Let's Protest "Unequal Treatment" at Tmw's ASL Expo in Upper Malboro
Gay-friendly Deaf Americans and Deaf Gay, Lebasian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) individuals ought to unify together to take up the part in tommorow's nationwide protest against the "unequal treatment" and "discriminatory practices" to deny the GLBT individuals from tying up the knots to show their real commitment and love toward each others.
The impromptu protest will take the place at the ASL Expo in Upper Malboro, MD to send out the strong message to the Deaf American community on Saturday, November 15th at 1:30 pm on the main stage.
Don't be spineless and show your true color to prove the Deaf GLBT presence in our Deaf American community what the Deaf GLBT people have done for many deaf people in general.

How Would We React with Obama for the Resurgence of Stem Cells Research?
How would we respond to the possibility of real success with future stem cells research to reverse the hearing loss (I really hate this term) among deaf people?
Will we curse the Obama/Biden administration or what? If the U.S. Congress make the mandatory requirement for us, culturally deaf individuals to undergo the hearing restoration or face the fines / lose the special tax breaks (We do not have that kind of tax breaks at that time).
I have some mixed feelings about using the undeveloped fetus - real defenseless creatures for our stem cells research. I am not politically conservative or a religious person. I do support women's rights to decide what to do with their own bodies. The issue of abortion within unwanted pregnancy bother me lately.
Not many people realize that the cosmetic industry usually use up the snipped pieces of skin from male circumcision among young male babies. Those discarded skins ended up in the manufacturing the regenerated skin creams nowadays.
Stem cells research could bring us endless benefits, but questions at the expense of defenseless "few days old" fetus, somewhat bother me lately.
I personally think that the Obama/Biden administration kinda rush on the issue of stem cells research with federal funds before Obama takes up the oath on January 20th.
Deaf people everywhere could be classified as "undesired" if we choose not to restore our genetic flaws or blessing features.
Back in the 1992 presidential election, Bill Clinton and the Democrats were staunch supporters for mainstreaming deaf students into regular schools. President George W. Bush and the Republicans supported the existence of residential schools for the education of the deaf.
Culturally deaf people probably resign to the idea of stem cells use to reverse or restore the hearing loss as compared to the much invasive cochlear implant surgery.
Our unique social and cultural identity as deaf people would be fading into forgotten history of the humankind if there are real success with the stem cells research of reversing or restoring the deaf being to the "perfect" human.

Is "BOLT" New Movie in 3-D Capable of Open/Closed Captions at Theatre(s)?
Is the new Disney film, "Bolt" capable of showing captions with the 3-D features at selected theatre(s)? It is about the adventure of superdog in computer animated features.
There are many 3-D and IMAX films shown with closed captions thru the use of Rear Window Captioning (RWC), but what about open captions.
Too complicated to be the 3-D films or IMAX films shown with OPEN captions?
That would be real nice of viewing the Disney's "Bolt" film during the quiet Thanksgiving week.

He served as a trustee to the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville before elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and Vice President to President James Buchanan.

Deaf Employee Inside the Bush II White House
The following conversation back few months ago with the current deaf employee within the Bush/Cheney White House, but never intentionally wrote about his employment experience until now.
This deaf employee is currently employed with the White House for more than ten years. He is with the White House correspondence (letters, postcards and other mailing materials) unit as a career employee.
From having the interesting conversation with this deaf White House employee from what he have been experienced of dealing with two different President of the United States. This deaf employee gave such striking contradictions between Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He felt much welcomed and appreciated more by George W. Bush which Bush intitally invited that deaf individual and other White House employees several times to the White House parties as compared to the Clinton White House. The Clintons just only invited all the White House employees to the annual Christmas party.
The deaf White House employee admitted that he was struck by President Bill Clinton's charmsia and backslapping as compared to George W. Bush's real human decency. Clinton used the American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for the annual Christmas party. Bush didn't! George W. Bush asked the longtime deaf White House employee if he doesn't mind of being lipreaded in very nice and courteous way. The Bush/Cheney White House provided the ASL interpreter for any important staff meetings.
The deaf White House employee said that he experienced more stable and organized tasks under George W. Bush as compared to the Clinton White House's chaotic and late-nights correspondence tasks. That was it!
I was unjustly accused by some deaf Republicans for supporting the nanny government which were totally untrue! Work ethics and hard works are real important for our human existence.
I am not totally biased toward Republicans. I am much pleased to see some moderate Republicans salvaged the U.S. Senate seats during the 2008 general election. Handful of Republicans are really great public office holders like Senator Chuck Hagel, Sen. John McCain and other mores.
The passage of D.C. statehood will be more likely to be succeeded under the Obama/Biden administration for adding two U.S. Senators and one House of Representative seats in exchange of adding one House seat to the state of Utah.
President George Walker Herbert Bush's father and George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, definitely supported the idea for the creation of D.C. statehood back in the 1950s.

Deaf Republicans Are Real Nutcases! Deaf Democrats???
Deaf Republicans under the leadership of Mike McConnell are real nutcases for being disillusioned with many so-called issues and occurrences.

Will Be Our Deaf Fault for Not Aggressively Exposing John McCain to the General Public What He Have Done to Us, Deaf People?
How sad of our American deaf community being pathetically apathetic for not taking any efforts in educating the American electorate about Senator John McCain's dismissive attitude toward deaf people for the 2008 presidential campaign.
Many and many of us already knew what Senator John McCain have been done to the Gallaudet community back in Fall 2006. McCain served more than 8 years as a board member of Gallaudet University Board of Trustees. The Gallaudet insiders repeatedly reported that McCain never showed up or attended the Gallaudet board of trustee meetings at all.
Why in the world, Senator John McCain agreed in the first place to accept the appointment to serve on Gallaudet University Board of Trustee and DONE NOTHING to ensure and reap the real benefits for Gallaudet University and its facilities?
Was John McCain directly responsible for sudden federal funding cutbacks from the U.S. Congress after he irresponsibly resigned from Gallaudet University Board of Trustees? Perhaps yes!

We, deaf people must show our own solidarity by voting for Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States to reverse the disastrous Bush and other past Republican policies for the past economic and social inequality more than 25 years.
Deaf Americans greatly benefited from the real economic and social prosperity of the Clinton presidency like opening the paths for the video relay service (VRS) and wireless communication and constant considerations for being inclusive within the deaf community. The Clinton's Federal Communication Commission (FCC) were very friendly and approachable to the deaf customers. The FCC under George W. Bush, deaf Americans had to fight and fight for what was right for our own deaf benefits from rapid transformation of our artificial communication, ex. wireless communication and VRS and emergency notices.

NAD's Disastrous Protest V. NFB protest
Many of us already knew about the NAD's disastrous protest against the "Tropic Thunder" film last summer 2008. NAD doesn't protest soley against "Tropic Thunder" for endless mockery against disabled people in general. NAD went along with other disabled groups' protest against that film.
What about you think about the National Federation of the Blind's latest protest against the new release film, "Blindness" with the star-studded casts all over from the world? This film is based on the novel with same title about the mystery global epidemic turned normal-sighted people instantly into blind people. That seems very interesting concept of probable occurence in the future of the humankind within the film.

What about you think about the National Federation of the Blind's latest protest against the new release film, "Blindness" with the star-studded casts all over from the world? This film is based on the novel with same title about the mystery global epidemic turned normal-sighted people instantly into blind people. That seems very interesting concept of probable occurence in the future of the humankind within the film.

How Come the NAD Didn't Televise BB's 80th Birthday Bash and "ASL Idol"?
How come didn't the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) televise the special events like Bernard Bragg's 80th Birthday Bash and "ASL Idol" from the NAD Conference 2008 via webcasts?
That would be an excellent opportunity for the National Association of the Deaf to do the nationwide membership recruitment tools and exposure for showing its own prestige and presence to the Deaf America and the rest of the deaf communities around the world.
NAD really could done like contracting out the television producer and television crew to televise the lifetime opportunity of Bernard Bragg's 80th Birthday Bash and other NAD events appealing to the deaf and hearing television viewers.
We did not have any chance of seeing our deaf fellows in the "ASL Idol" contests within the NAD Conference 2008 to recruit more deaf individuals to be the NAD members and build the sense of unity among the Deaf America and the global deaf communities.
In reality, the NAD do not have its own media department for filming NAD speeches at various places, ex. in support of rallies and protests. The NAD members did propose for the creation of the NAD's TV branch at the past NAD conventions/conferences and turned down the proposal every time.
The televised NAD events would garner a lot of $$$ for the National Association of the Deaf thru the webcasts like $10 to $20 per viewing and build up the membership base at same time.
Many deaf Americans and other deaf fellows would love to watch the deaf people roast Bernard Bragg thru humorous recantments few days later after the official event take the place at the Gallaudet Kellogg Conference Center.
Dunno know if the Gallaudet University already filmed Bernard Bragg's 80th Birthday Bash for its own campus television viewings or not. The Gallaudet Campus television facility is not widely available for the general television viewings thru satellite television uses.
Not everybody deaf able to come down to Gallaudet University's main campus in Washington, DC or similar event in Los Angeles for the fundraising venue of Deaf West Theatre in very same weekend.

Deaf Regional Personality Traits Across the U.S.
Any of you wonder whether we really have our deaf regional personality trait development within our former alta mater schools/universities and neighborhood?
The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported the scientific study of regional personality traits across America - "The United States of Mind".
The research study shown that the residents of North Dakota are most outgoing as compared to neuoritic Kentuckians and conscientous Floridians.

My recall about handful of deaf people informally label the graduates and students of California School of the Deaf - Fremont are most likely to be cliquey among their own kinds. Any proofs about deaf Fremontians?? Probably true or not!
When I came to Gallaudet for very first time. Many students thought that I was a Californian myself. I said "What?" I asked those students why I was considered "Californian". I was told that I was too confident, dress casually and signed pure ASL. How interesting about the first impression I made on Gallaudet students.
After telling Gallaudet students that I was from West Virginia. Many students said "Really?" I was not look like a typical hillbilly. I laughed so hard.
From my own personal observations, Maryland School for the Deaf graduates are intentionally involved in deaf activism later in life. Look at Joey Baer, Carl Schroeder and other mores.
I noticed that many deaf North Dakotans have superbu English writing and reading skills at Gallaudet University. Isolated and chilly environment contributed to their eventual polishings of the dominant language usage- the English language.
Deaf Floridians and Texans tend to be more party-minded people. Don't you agree?
Former graduates from Rochester School for the Deaf, NY and American School for the Deaf , Connecticut seems turn out most pathological liars and troublemakers from what I socialized with those people.
That seems the deaf residential school/university neighborhoods area greatly influenced the personality formations more than parents of deaf youngsters.
Fremont, California is really a modest small-town which contributed to the feelings of close-knit community and resulted in more cliquey mentality among deaf Fremontians compared to the graduates and students of Riverside California School for the Deaf .
Deaf West Virginians are noticeably overdependent on hearing people and seek their approvals more than anyone deaf across the United States. They intentionally believe that hearing people know more than deaf individuals or being right than deaf people. Of course, deaf West Virginians are politically passive as compared to Northern California deaf community. Deaf West Virginians are more likely to use the Language Contact (PSE) and SEE more than other deaf Americans.
Some deaf people consider many deaf New Yorkers to be arrogant and boasteous. Any truth to this one?

Real Shame on Laura Bush for Excluding Deaf Authors
Real shame on Laura Bush, the current First Lady for excluding deaf authors from being part of the 2008 National Book Festival this September 26th and past bookfests- seven straight years!
First Lady Laura Bush never made any attempts of being inclusive with the deaf community like inviting any deaf authors to the Texas Book Festival and National Book Festival. We have plenty of deaf authors in our literary circles!
Our first lady of America is supposed to bring out the best out of the diverse America! She never did at all. Laura Bush schmoozed the Library of Congress to support the National Book Festival at the expenses of American taxpayers! Not every American taxpayers benefit from the National Book Festival since it is in the Nation's Capitol!
The past National Book Festival usually provide the ASL interpreters for deaf attendees, not this year. Huh?

Bill and Hillary Clinton have been regularly visited the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock, AK as Governor of AK. Bill Clinton stepped on the ground of Gallaudet University to give the Gallaudet commencement in the 90s. Hillary Clinton made one or two informal visits to Gallaudet University as the First Lady.
Deaf America's Librarian - Alice Hagemeyer, a tireless advocate of library access and uses for deaf people across the United States. Ms. Hagemeyer once told me that Laura Bush was her personal favorite. Hasn't Laura Bush help anything in DC-area libraries or any deaf library programs? Nope!
Laura Bush just lend her personal support to the creation of DC City Museum at the former Carnegie Library next to the brand-new Washington Convention Center on 7th-9th and K Street, NW. Guess what? The DC City Museum suddenly closed in a year due to lack of interests among local DC residents and tourists. Laura Bush doesn't know how to choose the projects more carefully. How typical of her own hubby, Georgie for screwing up our country beyond imagination!
Not many people realize that Laura Bush is a smoker herself! She have been shamelessly promoted her own daughter, Jenna Bush's book at this year's 2008 National Book Festival. Jenna Bush's name have been omitted on the list of 70 authors featured at the 2008 book festival website. Why??
Several authors like Bob Schieffer of CBS-TV News and Salman Rushdie are being featured as this year's selected authors. Many people did not realize that Bob Schieffer is a close pal of George W. Bush's brother. Journalistic integrity with Bob Schieffer? Nah!
Salman Rushdie do not deserve to be on the list of selected authors since he is not an American citizen at all.
We must demand that some deaf authors to be featured at the 2008 National Book Festival or Laura Bush herself is really anti-deaf .

She founded the Red NoteBook directory for librarians across the United States and tirelessly pushed libraries to provide the library programs/lectures and books related to deaf people . Hagemeyer founded the Friends of Libraries for Deaf Action. She have been the current outreach coordinator for the National Literacy Society of the Deaf lately.
Alice Hagemeyer ever is a registered Republican herself. I am sure that she is rooting for John McCain this year. Despite her political party affiliation, I dearly love Alice for who and what she is.

What About Deaf America's Misgivings Toward Racial Attitude?
What about any of you, deaf voters have any misgivings about the Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama's color of skin (race)?
The latest Associated Press (AP) and Yahoo Poll found out about too many white and Republican voters have misgivings about Democratic President Barack Obama's color of skin (race). How shocking about the American society in 2008!
I already thought that the majority of American people were past the racial misgivings of other ethnic and racial people. I was totally wrong!
Of course, I keep seeing many white and black deaf people still have the racial attitudes toward black people or white people in general.
I must admit that I have some deaf friends, who are genteel racists themselves. I usually dismiss their racist or prejudiced views of different people. Those friends are really great people, but happen to have the mischaracterized view of the society from time to time. My personal viewpoints are more liberal and progressive than most people I know of.
I seldom use "N" to test deaf people's reaction as part of my own informal sociological study. At the first glance, deaf people would get little uncomfortable and look around, then show their real-self and openly used "N" with me.
Most deaf people I encounter or socialize with, are likely to have a progressive views of ethnic and racial minorities. Deaf white people in DC area, usually have negative views of African Africans whose happened to be living on the street or being the panhandlers or thugs lurking on the street.
Are those deaf white people being racist or look down on the downtrodden society?
Kinda troubling about the handful of American people have such a skeptical views of Barack Obama, because of his color of skin.
Nothing new about the deaf America being racially formed due to their own color of skin. Is that part of the comfort zone or purely a societal prejudice?
The past sociological studies about the deaf America and racial attitudes shown that there were many deaf clubs of the past tend to have the segregated cliques.
From the past observance of deaf social gatherings like the Deaf Professional Happy Hour (DPHH) or deaf gay (GLBT) social gatherings in DC, there were still kinda a racial cliques.
Deaf DC GLBT social gatherings hardly have seen deaf African Americans on the scene. Why??
I told several deaf African American gay guys about the monthly deaf GLBT coffeehouse or social events. They ever don't know about the events at all. Deaf African Americans were kinda reluctant of coming down to the predominately white social gatherings. Who would blame them?
I was seldom accused of being a racist from time to time, because I never expressed any interests in African American guys or other ethnic guys. I was confronted by one hearing African American last spring 2008 that I was not interested in him due to his color of skin. That African American was really a nice-looking, but I frequently seen him at particular places. I was totally shocked that I was being accused of racism. I told that hearing African American guy that I came down to this place to enjoy myself with a drink and had a conversations with patrons. Nothing more than that! Of course, this hearing guy was a sexoholic.
One friend of mine during the Gallaudet years- late 1980s. We often talked about the issue of racism. That friend hitched from the Deep South. He often harmlessly said about African Americans. I returned with progressive views of people in general. That friend turned to me with a simple question - "Have you been with any black people in bed?" I replied nope! My friend said "See that! I already had sex with several black women. Their pubic hairs were like steel wool pad. I replied 'Come on!"
After frequent discussions with my friend about racial issues got me really think of who and what I was. I found some African American, Latino and Asian guys to be truly attractive, but I was kinda reluctant of those ethnic and racial guys. I still kept on the straight course what attracted me to gay guys - their intelligence, social courtesy, behaviors and appearance of how they took care of themselves. That was it!!
I personally find male foreskin to be much unappealing (ugly). That's why I hardly expressed any interests in any ethnic and racial guys due to their cultural upbringings for not having the circumcised male genitals. Yes, white guys do have foreskin genitals. I still am not interested in any white guys with foreskin genital. Of course, I was often called "prejudiced" by some deaf guys for finckling toward male foreskin genital. I could not help it at all!
I do not find Barack Obama to be any handsome or appealling. I also am not really impressed with his thin resume and debate skills and leadership issues. I either do not like McCain and Palin at all. Nothing to do with racism and ageism!
I am much aware of many deaf people being discriminated and prejudiced because of us being deaf. We, deaf people have to get the college Bachelor of Arts degree to obtain the entry job to prove ourselves to be worthy to the audistic society or PhD degree for B.A. employment position.
Should we give Barack Obama a chance to lead our country or what? John McCain is surely a "bipolar" person due to his often changing positions. Obama is not really perfect at all.
My deaf friend often emailed me that he worried about Barack Obama would have a revenge on white Americans for the past racist practices. I don't think so!
I noticed about many deaf Christians have such a prejudices toward Muslim people in general. They often emailed me about Barack Obama in Muslim attires. I tried to explain that was not accurate about Obama being a Muslim. Obama just wore the Muslim clothing while he conducted the Senate business trip to the host country. He had to wear the customary attire not to offend the host for the reception, etc.
I am no "bleeding heart" liberal myself. I hardly bother to give any changes or $$ to the African American beggars on DC-area street, because I always am annoyed of their misassumption of us, white people have more money than well-off black people.

Tap on Hearing People's Shoulder or Wave Your Hand Over Their Face Could Get You in Legal Trouble!
The well-known and respectable film "hearing" critic, Roger Ebert of Chicago, IL, seems understood what we, deaf people were going thru everyday life. Ebert's knee got whacked by another film critic during the film screening. Ebert couldn't see the subtitles of the new foreign film to be reviewed. He got the cancer on his mouth area few years ago. The main part of his mouth area had been heavily removed due to cancerous region. Ebert had to tap on that hearing man's shoulder to move his shoulder blocked Ebert's view. Guess what?

Any of us, deaf people have the tendency of tapping on hearing people's shoulder or wave hands over their face to get their attention. We would get in legal troubles for so-called physical assault.
No questions about the difference of cultural and linguistic upbringings between deaf and hearing Americans how to get someone's attention. Deaf people usually tap on someone's shoulder or wave their hands in front of someone's face.
Many hearing Americans dislike this kind of manual communication approach by deaf people.
What we should do with hearing people's misunderstandings of us, deaf people to do the outreach to any hearing people?
In the past, I did gently tapped on one hearing lady to get her attention. She became squeamish and shouted to me "Don't touch me!" I tried to calm that lady, but she seems frantic all over the place.
Hearing Americans seems little paranoid about physical touchings on shoulder area, ex. tapping.
I hope that Roger Ebert will be more sympathetic toward deaf people and feel solidarity with us.

"Biological Weapon" Scare at Gallaudet University
There was the "biological weapon" scare at Gallaudet University this Wednesday morning at the North Ballard dormitory which found later to be the plant food for growing marijuana in the undisclosed empty dormitory room. The Gallaudet Physical Plant Department (PPD) done their regular heating/AC cleaning tasks and found those chemical containers and heat lamps and called upon the FBI agents, DC Metropolitan Police, bomb squad technicians and firefighters.
The Washington Post newspaper accurately defined this incident to be the "chemical scare".
300 Gallaudet students had to be evacuated from both Ballard dormitories. The heightened concerns about the possibility of chemical/biological attacks due to the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks across the country.

AGB's Pre-Emptive Strikes Against DBC like RNC?
There is the troubling news reports about the Republican National Committee and St. Paul Police Department e n g a g e d with the pre-emptive strikes against the would-be protestors at the Grand Ole' Party (GOP) National Convention. Will the ASL Be An Endangered Language?
"The Linguists" (2008) new subtitled film have been screened at many universities and linguistic associations and several film festivals to the acclaims of film attendees and linguists and university researchers. That film also have been shown at Yale University, University of London, University of Chicago and Purdue University this year.
American Sign Language (ASL) itself is surely possible to be one of the endangered language if the new scientific breakthrough for complete reversal of hearing loss and the AGBell's AVT (audio verbal therapy) doctrination.
This film is mainly a documentary about two linguists raced to record the endangered languages and associated cultures around the world like the "Indiana Jones" adventures before the last fluent speakers of endangered and forgotten and hidden languages die.
7,000 different languages are currently spoken around the entire globe, many are rapidly disappearing. On the average, one language disappears into thin air every two weeks. Scientists and linguist experts estimate that the half of language will be on the verge of extinction in this 21th century due to economic and sociopolitical colonialism, ex. China on Tibet and Tawian and AGBell doctrines on the use of AVT to get rid of American Sign Language (ASL).

Take Action on Ridor and Martin Ritchie and Oxygen-TV!
According to Ridor's "Countdown to Resurrection" blog, the Oxygen TV's "Janice Dickerson Modeling Agency" hired an unqualified ASL interpreter for Martin Ritchie, the deaf reality TV
contestant,. The non-certified ASL interpreter was Jerry Ferris, CODA himself.
Jerry Ferris's pre-reality TV occupation was the art gallery director somewhere in Southern California. Ridor mentioned what a brown-nosed opporuntist, Jerry Ferris have been for years and leeched on anyone as a stepping stone all for himself. Ferris had been the TV producer for several tv programmings and actor and self-opporuntist lately.
Ridor's blog pointed out to the real concerns about Martin Ritchie being disservice by Jerry Ferris' questionable ASL interpreting on Oxygen-TV's "Janice Dickerson Modeling Agency" reality TV show of the Season Four since 2006 - www.janice/about.aspx Several deaf individuals from Barb DiGigi and Jared Evans also shared their concerns about Jerry Ferris and the issue of interpreter qualification and ethics on Ridor's blog.
Let's take a real action like writing out the letter of concerns and inquiry to the Oxygen TV network and National Association of the Deaf and other advocacy groups in advancement of deaf rights. Most important of all is to be more precise and specific and non-threatening with your concerns, disappointments and dissatisfaction to all the listed groups above about the unacceptable practices of hiring such an disqualified ASL interpreter for the reality TV programming and other entertainment features.
We could put the issue of unqualified ASL interpreters and the shortage of qualified ASL and transliteration interpreters in the United States on the map for this year's 2008 presidential election.

New Study Shown That The Use of Hearing Aids Could Interfere With Natural Body Function(s)
MSNBC's Kathleen Doheny reported the new scientific findings that the use of hearing aids could create some body function problems, ex. clogged ear canals. The basic function of ear wax is to lubricate the ear itself and keep anything out of ordinary.
The title of MSNBC article is "Leave That Ear Wax Alone". Its recommendation is the regular visit to the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialists to clean out the excessive ear waxs twice per year. www.msnbc.com and type Kathleen Doheny on any ISP search engine.
Being totally deaf is a true blessing as compared to such troublesome hassles with the use of hearing aids or have a cochlear implant. Free validated parking after 5pm inside the Ronald Reagan Building parking garage. Easy access to the Metrobus route - 30s Metrobus along the Pennsylvania Avenue. The Federal Triangle Metrorail station is right next to the Woodrow Wilson Plaza. Perfecto for the annual largest DC DPHH gathering for every September. Don't you, Shane Feldman, coordinator of the DC DPHH, agree?
The DeafDC.com haven't been posted lately about the location of next DPHH gathering site. I took the liberty of doing some research to find the perfect site for our September DC DPHH. You, Shane Feldman and other deaf individuals expressed concerns about the Georgetown Harbor due to the parking difficulty and long walks from the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metrorail station. Some problems arisen with the Sequoia seafood restaurant management last time back to last September 2007.
I also checked out the National Harbor in Prince George County which the WMATA do offer the limited bus services to this place, but the bus schedule for the NH-1 bus will end at 9:30pm. Seems too far for many deaf individuals going there anyway. It's time for the due of DC DPHH is in DC. Correct?

No free parking garages or spots found in Georgetown area as compared to the street parking along the Pennsylvania Avenue and parking garage inside the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Center building. Four Metrorail stations nearby - National Archives, Smithsonian, Metro Center and Gallery Place-Chinatown within walking distance to this secret gem of DC - the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Center.
The Georgetown Harbor is kinda a tiresome scene for many regular DPHH attendees anyway. The change of scenery is what we really need most now for the different gathering site.

Margait Fox of the New York Times' Obituary Department reporter and author, wrote the new book - "Talking Hands: What Sign Language Reveals About the Mind". Fox, a trained linguist and the team of linguistic researchers went to the remote Bedouin village in Israel where an indigenous sign language developed. Remmy Nicaragua' linguistic expedition back in 2006 on the CBS-TV's "60 Minutes" tv programming?
Margalit Fox also offered the exhaustive description of other sign languages around the world. She and other linguistic researchers attracted to that Israeli village to inquire and report how language is made in the human mind.

"200" Brought to Deaf Gaza School Lately
The New York Time's latest article (8/23/08) reported more than 40 international human right advocates in two boats recently landed in Gaza in defy of the Israel government and brought 200 hearing aid devices for deaf Gaza youngsters. *rolling eyes in disbelief*

Why in the world for the international human rights advocates brought hearing aids, instead of money for lack of diesel fuels within bus transportation to carry deaf students all over the Gaza Strip or books and other non-audistic stuff? No particular name of this international human rights advocacy group mentioned so far.
Israel have been blocked the orders of hearing aid devices and batteries to be delivered to the deaf Gaza school for years. That seems Israel doing the real favor for deaf Gaza children from being delivered to the audistic means of peppering them to the tortures of speech and hearing trainings.
Couldn't be much prouder of Israel's action to keep hearing aid devices and batteries out of reach for the deaf Gaza school to equip deaf Gaza students. Israel know what is best for deaf Gaza students. The international human rights advocates are the idiotic ones for their audistic behaviors to please the audists and clueless parents of deaf children to turn them into "little parrots" and "seals in training to please and wow the world of audism. Bravo to Israel's 'Stone Age" tactics!

The school is 16 years old. The student enrollment figures at deaf Gaza school is about 200. The future enrollment goal is to admit up to 300 students.
All staff personnel at the deaf Gaza school use sign language. The school also teach parents of deaf youngsters how to master sign language. How intelligent for this school to engage in sign language communication! Israel's security blockade kinda forced the deaf Gaza school staff to resort to the use of sign language more than ever. One of most best solution for deaf youngsters ever occurred lately around the world as compared to the AGBell (AgBAD)'s AVT programs in the United States. Sign language communication is most practical and effective educational means, not the use of hearing aid devices and batteries or AVT programs.

Confused about Merger of the Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind
Is there already the official merger of the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind (VSDB) of Stauton and the Hampton Roads School for the Deaf and Blind and Multi-Disabled (HRSDBMD)or what?
After reading the MSNBC's news report on the increasingly school budgets across the country to be heavily slashed and reduced, ex. school transportation cost and fuel. The article is written by Alex Johnson of MSNBC.
Johnson mentioned the fine example of the merger of the VSDB and HRSDBMD as part of the widespread trend to save the cost of state educational budget spending. He wrote:
"To save money, Virginia officials decided to merge the state's two school for
students with disabilities.
As a result, parents of students at the Hampton Roads School for the Deaf
and Blind and Multi-Disabled in Hampton, will have to decide whether to send
their children hours away to the state's only other facility in Stauton"
I checked out the Internet to find out more accurate information on the current status
of the VSDB and Hampton Roads School for the D/B/MD. The latest information comes from the Office of Governor Kaines of Virginia in 2006 about Kaines' proposal for the renovation of the VSDB buildings and continuted funding to the VSDB in Stauton and create the regional program in Hampton Roads within his budget request.
Another information said that the state school board put off the votes for the new site of the
VSDB.
Any accurate and latest information regarding the VSDB out there? I always feel connected to the VSDB whenever I go there. The VSDB have a lot of history.

Selective Admission Practices at Oral Schools for the Deaf
Past selective admission practices at many oral schools for the deaf over decades have to be publicly exposed for what the school administrators and board members carefully cherry picked their prospective deaf students for school admissions.
Many past oral schools for the deaf administration and board members extensively looked for deaf students, who had been tested for their intelligence and capacity for speaking orally. If any deaf student did not meet any standards for so-called intelligence, but the school administrators of oral schools for the deaf, willingly to overlook that particular student's "below-average" intelligence and take hir in due to the family wealth. Many oral schools for the deaf successfully raked in millions and millions and millions of dollars and deceived the general public about their so-called success with the oral education for deaf students.
The residential schools of the deaf hardly do this kind of thing and admit almost everyone deaf for educational studies and social/emotional development. Those schools often turned into a dumping ground for "oral failures" and "rejected ones" from oral schools for the deaf. In the end, residential schools of the deaf graciously educated millions and millions of deaf students with greater results for become a whole human being with excellent "life" foundation as productive and meaningful citizens.
Oral schools for the deaf came with their own shameful and horrendous legacy - crude and abusive methods to get deaf students to speak orally which the natural order of human beings losing any one of five senses - hearing, seeing, touching, smell and taste. Human beings could adapt very well without one of the five senses and lead worthy life.
Oral schools for the deaf nowadays face dramatic admission enrollment loss due to the widespread of cochlear implant uses. Those schools face their own extinction anytime for what they done to millions of deaf youngsters in the past. Karma really work in very mystifying way.
Residential schools of the deaf and public education brought people together for the better humanity, not the oral schools for the deaf and AGBell. The ongoing violence against deaf youngsters with the forced surgery of cochlear implant is another legacy of oppression and belittlement against the natural evolutionary of human beings for adapted human survival.
Parents of deaf babies and youngsters need to think deeply from what they are doing to their own offspring like depriving the language acquaintance thru workable means without any kind of frustration or wasteful struggles.

Bobby Harris, Future Consultant for Law Enforcement Agencies?
Pretty good numbers of newspaper coverages from Frederick, MD to Canada about Bobby Harris, deaf student intern from Maryland School of the Deaf, currently have a summer internship at the city of Frederick's Police Department.
Bobby Harris brought many smiles and respects and appreciations to the Frederick Police Department with his glowing personality from helping out with the police training exercises how to deal with uncooperative deaf subject to the modification of visual aids fold-out pocket book for police officer to have an excellent communication with deaf individual. Harris also engaged in role-playing as a potential deaf troublemaker for police officer to deal with any deaf troublemaker. Harris demonstrated the handcuffing of deaf suspect/troublemaker behind their back to hamper (block/limit) necessary communication. Harris hopefully complete the development of his visual charts for productive communication between deaf individual(s) and police officer(s) before hitching to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) this fall to study criminal justice and computer graphics.
Will Bobby Harris be our future consultant for the law enforcement agencies how to deal effectively with deaf individuals, instead of trampling on our civil liberties and police misconducts/ brutality? Hope so! Wish Bobby Harris all the good lucks with his studies and university life!

Senator Jesse Helms and His Wife Knew ASL
One of most colorful and conservative politician on the national level, recently passed away and had a connection to the deaf community thru his wife. Honorable Jesse Helms of North Carolina, elected to the U.S Senate in late 1970s. Senator Jesse Helms' hearing wife knew American Sign Language (ASL) and often volunteered at Gallaudet's Visitor Center as what Gallaudet Professor Robert Weinstock noted on his writings for Gally's WHATSUP4 VAX-forum moderated by students during the 1990s.
Senator Jesse Helms once signed "I Love You" in ASL to two little girls and their parents at the Anchorage airport after getting back from the "KAL 007" Senate investigation in the early 1980s. The "KAL 007" was a major international outcry against the Soviet Union for shooting down the civilian passenger plane.
Many Gallaudetians and other individuals described Jesse Helms' wife as a sweet one as opposed to Senator Jesse Helms' combative treatments toward disability laws. Helms pushed for the nomination of Terrence Boyle to the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court. The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) expressed such a concern about the nomination of Terrence Boyle due to his judicial career of weakening the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504. Boyle frequently ruled against the ADA and ruled to limit the US. Congress' power of enforcing the ADA. Boyle ever ruled that the U.S. Congress had no powers to apply the ADA to state prisons either under the Commerce clauses (U.S. Constitution) and the 14th Amendment. Boyle ever ruled against the right to reasonable accommodations.

How hilarious about the ACT-UP, a radical and militant gay activists surprised Honorable Jesse Helms by putting the 40-feet giant and inflatable condom over Helms' residence in Arlington, VA (2000) to send the strong message about not ignoring the AIDS victims. Helms was well-known for dismissing the AIDS epidemic and blasted the homosexual agenda from time to time. In the end, Helms finally realized about the seriousness of AIDS epidemic near his final Senate years. He was very regretful for not doing something about the AIDS/HIV epidemic. The ACT-UP activists barged into drug companies' office about their questionable rigging practices to make the HIV medications' price too high to be affordable for HIV victims. Bravo to the ACT-UP's gutsy tactics and provoking "street theatres" to force politicians to take a hard look at the sufferings of people with AIDS and HIV!
Jesse Helms' former press secretary, Claude Allen, was recently arrested at Target's store for shoplifting. He brought Target shopping bags and grabbed items and asked for full refunds. Nothing new about the so-called family values among the GOPers!
Honorable Jesse Helms often quipped "I really do not care if I am wrong about things!" Questions remained about how much "deaf-friendly" Honorable Jesse Helms really was toward deaf people. What was his legacy to the deaf community especially North Carolina? Helms never was afraid if he appeared as a bigot or ignorant. Good riddance!

ASLforLife, That's What I Tried Last Sumemrtime on Issue of EDHI
ASLforLife and the DeafRead readers and everyone concerned,
That's why I wrote this blog posting last summertime 2008 to urge the Deaf America to block the re-introduction of the Early Detection of Hearing Loss (EDHI) bill within the U.S. Senate.
I am very glad to see some people like you and others begin to realize what the EDHI intentionally pave the way for cochelar implantizing deaf babies and youngsters than just screening and providing balanced advices and options to parents of deaf babies and youngsters.
I have not been bothered with the follow-up updates of the EDHI bill so far. I rather see the EDHI bill being dead in the process than bringing up to the table for votes. If the U.S. Senate pass the EDHI bill, then the real nightmare for the Deaf America will come beyond our imagination.
It's time for us, Deaf America to act and keep the EDHI from becoming the real law!
We also could do something about the upcoming SCHI (health insurance for children) funding proposal for cochlear implant surgery on deaf babies and youngsters thru the Medicaid and other government fundings.
Our government really have no business of promoting the human engineering option or linguiscism of American Sign Langauge (ASL) at all.

FYI, the re-authorization of "Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Act" (EDHI) legislative bill have been recently introduced to the U.S. Senate for final voting anytime this summertime.
This bill have been passed in the House of Representatives known as H.R. 2889 last April 2008. The EDHI bill is also an amendment to the S 1712 bill known as "Screening for Health of Infants and Newborns Act" sponsored by Senator Hillary Clinton in 2007. The S 1712 proposed bill have been referred to the U.S. Senate's Health, Education subcommittee twice in past year.
Many of us, deaf people are much aware of how this original legislation back in 2000, kinda responsible for spawning the path for parents of deaf babies and youngsters to get cochlear implant surgery quicker and sooner.
More and more deaf babies and children got cochlear implant surgery, BECAUSE of this damned legislation. That's what the AGBell had in mind when called and supported for the idea of newborns' hearing screening and intervention for quick way of getting deaf babies and youngsters to get cochlear implant surgery much younger than ever. NAD was too blind for supporting this 2000 legislation without making sure that every parents of would-be deaf newborn or youngster to give real options like consulting deaf agencies to get unbiased information and feedback.
"Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Act" legislation led the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve the CI surgery for deaf babies much sooner after six months old. That's what the AGBell want to exploit parents of deaf babies and youngsters' emotional upsetness to find out about their baby or child officially screened as deaf. So parents of deaf babies and youngsters could rush to the decision to cochlearize their own deaf offspring(s) without giving a chance to see and appreciate what their deaf infant/child really is all about.
AGBell and other audiology and financial industry often got upset with the original legislation due to the lack of follow-up incentives for the intervention programs to be in gear to get parents of deaf babies and youngsters coming back for getting cochlear implant or digital hearing aids. They wanted to make sure that no cracks within the system for parents of deaf babies and youngsters leaving the hospital without considerations for cochlear implant or digital hearing aids.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the similar bill related to the EDHI programs like
H.R. 1198 last April 2008 which enabled the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to establish the post-doctoral research fellowship program to effectively recruit researchers to become involved in early hearing detection and intervention and provide the agency authority (state agency) to support excellent family-to-family support programs developed by state EDHI programs and other organizations that are not yet widely implemented.
Why many business-oriented publications like the Forbes magazine bothered to report on the National Center on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NCDCD)'s Research Symposium on "New Mechanism in Auditory Discrimination And Speech in Deafness" at the AGBell 2008 Conference in Milwaukee? That raise many questions about real intentions of money-making incentives for American corporations to ride on the S 1712 bill within the 110th Congress's.
Here are our chances to block the Re-Authorization of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Act bill in the U.S Senate to vote on! We could demand for having an open congressional forum with the AGBell and other audiology-interest groups to find out why many parents of deaf babies and youngsters and deaf clients to be heavily requested whether they want cochlear implant surgery during the simple audiology visit(s). Many deaf adults feel offended when they come to the audiology office for hearing aid-related problems and ended up of being stealthily asked if they are interested in getting cochlear implant or not.
Our elected national lawmakers ought to know what is really going on with the profit-driven industry to reel in the emotionally-wrecked parents of deaf babies and youngsters to cochlearize their own offspring without any considerable or unbiased information from any intervention programs within audiology industry and audiology interest groups.
The national lawmakers ought to explore the costly impact of cochlear implant surgery on deaf babies and youngsters with the creation of federal commission to study the long-term consequences on the health of deaf individuals with cochlear implant devices. The commission must be fairly balanced staffed with deaf advocates and deaf professionals for the unbiased outcomes of the commission's findings.
Please contact your U.S. Senator(s) to hold off the S 17172 bill until the creation of federal commission and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigative the audiology, cochlear implant and other audiology interest groups, ex. AGBell for possible racketeering and monopolistic practices along with too many "conflict of interest" occurrences.
That's why I wrote this blog posting last summertime 2008 to urge the Deaf America to block the re-introduction of the Early Detection of Hearing Loss (EDHI) bill within the U.S. Senate.
I am very glad to see some people like you and others begin to realize what the EDHI intentionally pave the way for cochelar implantizing deaf babies and youngsters than just screening and providing balanced advices and options to parents of deaf babies and youngsters.
I have not been bothered with the follow-up updates of the EDHI bill so far. I rather see the EDHI bill being dead in the process than bringing up to the table for votes. If the U.S. Senate pass the EDHI bill, then the real nightmare for the Deaf America will come beyond our imagination.
It's time for us, Deaf America to act and keep the EDHI from becoming the real law!
We also could do something about the upcoming SCHI (health insurance for children) funding proposal for cochlear implant surgery on deaf babies and youngsters thru the Medicaid and other government fundings.
Our government really have no business of promoting the human engineering option or linguiscism of American Sign Langauge (ASL) at all.
